Easy Brother

Easy Brother are Brett Sullivan and Tony Jones. The duo met each other breakdancing behind the school canteen in Sydney Australia. They formed a band shortly after called Broken Words and played their first pub gigs while at school. They remained under that name til the mid nineties when they became Mockingbird and toured throughout Australia and the UK. After a break from music the pair got together with a bunch of songs they had written and recorded the self titled Easy Brother debut. Brett, based in London, and Tony, based in Sydney, collaborated across the globe to record Where Do We Go From Here, Easy Brother's second album.

Tony Jones
vocals, guitars

Brett Sullivan

Favourite Song

Slow and tired
We need a hit that won't get us wired
You and I stumbling forward into the fire
Sing that song, song for me Like you always used to do
God I hope you love me because girl you're killing me

I tell you baby baby please
Would you be my favourite song?
Will you be my favourite tune?
Come on sing it for me

Think I'll tag along with you
Be with you all afternoon
Trip our way out of here
Find some place, some cleaner air
Sing that song, song for me Like you always used to do
God I hope you love me because girl you mean the world to me

I tell you baby baby please
Would you be my favourite song?
Will you be my favourite tune?
Come on sing it for me

Where Do We Go From Here

Seems tonight is just like the rest
Down City Road decked in my best
Well I spot you at the lights
Surrounded by fights
I never met a girl as bold
I know I can't be wrong

Seems one day now lasts a week
Each day I'm counting till we meet
But Ii don't why
You're tearing up my mind
And I don't know why
I'm going to make my move

You don't know me and I don't know you
But girl I'm pretty sure that we'll work out
Cause you said I'll see you
And I meant I love you
Why wait? Let's run
Where do we go from here?

Plucked up the nerve to carry on
Wear my heart on my sleeve
I'm never done till I'm done
You take my friends and go
You drop me like a stone
You turn me on and on
I can never catch you alone

You don't know me and I don't know you
But girl I'm pretty sure that we'll work out
Cause you said I'll see you
And I meant I love you
Why wait? Let's run
Where do we go from here?

When It Comes Down To It

Ooh yeah when it comes down to it
How can we make the same mistake
We've been here before
What are we trying for
What can I say should we walk away

In your head you said I'll just give him time
In my head I did say that you would be my kind
What can I say
Ooh yeah when it comes down to it
Should we walk away?
Ooh yeah when it comes down to it
Should we walk away?

Ooh yeah when it comes down to it
I can't be afraid of you
Ooh yeah when it comes down to it
And all your love and I feel like a change
But I don't how when
We won't be the same

Tense across the room
Flash of looks and smiles
With all things said
Does this cross the line?
To chance it all may be the greatest fall
In my head I think
Should we walk away?…

Not Here For The Money

And could I be as stupid as I've been as to deceive myself into disgrace?
Because in my dreams I dreamed a better place, where you and me, you and me relate.

And I need for you to be yourself and in yourself you need a little faith
If you believe the promise that I made was born of love then don't you hesitate

This is my choice I love you, I'm not here for the money
My only sin, I want you, I'm not here for the money
I'm not here for the money

And what I said was everything I meant and what I mean is I don't give a damn
about the things that everybody said, coz in the end there's only you and me.
And I need for you to be yourself and in yourself you need a little faith

This is my choice I love you, I'm not here for the money
My only sin, I love you, I'm not here for the money

I'm not here for the money
I'm not here for the money.... No No!
I'm not here....

Take A Little Piece

Please won't you take me home?
I'm tired and I just want to sleep.
The morning star refuses to shine on me til' I sleep

The tears that roll down your cheek, have washed the sins from my face
The more you cry, the clearer the truth was to me

And you don't relate to silence and it's getting late baby

Take a little piece of me home (wouldn't you like some more?)
Take a little piece of me home (wouldn't you like it?)

You want the rest of me, I give you the best of me now

I lie awake in this place
No sleep can bring me some peace
The war inside has taken the peace out of me

And you don't relate to violence and it's getting late baby
And you don't relate to silence and it's getting late baby

Take a little piece of me home (wouldn't you like some more?)
Take a little piece of me home (wouldn't you like it?)
You want the rest of me I give you the best of me now!
The best of me now!

Messed Up Again

I left the windows down
I put the laundry out
And then the weatherman says there's rain
I gotta get more fuel
I hope my pay came through
'cause I'll be pushing this car again

I gotta keep my cool
I gotta lift my game
you can't see me this way again
You want the best I got
But I'm a real bad shot
I wanna give you the best I can

I left the windows down again, forgot my girlfriends name...

Think I messed up again
Think I messed up again (we know we know!)

You were just the right girl that I was hoping for
But you don't want anything
You were just the right girl that I was looking for
But you don't need anyone

Think I messed up again
Think I messed up again
Think i messed up
Think I messed up

We know we know

Wasn't The Right Guy

I'm catching the drift
In the autumn breeze
Doesn't feel like it should
Whispering truths I don't want to hear
I'm running a world
A world full of schemes that I can't make last
But I promised you I'd succeed

You didn't know what love was in my heart
I gave you all I had to give from the start
But I was down on my luck
It turned out I wasn't the right guy

I'm checking the fire within
Is it going up in flames
Can i salvage the part that's me
Or is it all in vain
Cause now I've lost you
Blindsided by what I thought was right
It doesn't matter know
I'll start again and again

You didn't know what love was in my heart
I gave you all I had to give from the start
But I was down on my luck
It turned out I wasn't the right guy
And you didn't even stop to say goodbye
I was calling, crying, reaching out
i could not breathe like a falling heap
It turned out I wasn't the right guy

Simple

I like things when they're simple
But things don't stay that way for long
You need simplicity like an old friend needs a smile today

Some days go by around this place and I don't mind as long as you stay by my side
'cause when you smile down at me I feel nothing

I like things when they're simple
But things don't stay that way for long
You need simplicity like an old friend needs a smile today

Some days I feel alone in this place and I can't sleep while you're away
From my side because when you smile down at me I need nothing

I like things when they're simple
But things don't stay that way for long
You need simplicity like an old friend needs a smile today

Simple, it's simple, not simple for me...

Believe In Some Of Me

Weather seems fine today
There's dust in the light
Lost in trust again
Thuinder cracks on the horizon
Never known days to get to me until today

It's clear to me
Believe in some of me
Come to me
Won't you believe in some of me
The days you're around
You keep my feet firmly on the ground
Cause you believe in some of me
But you don't believe in all of me.

It's raining down in sheets
I'm running tired I need a change of scene
I really ought to know
I'm here please tell me so
We're drawing to a close of ten years of love
Now tell me where have they gone?

It's clear to me
Believe in some of me
Come to me
Won't you believe in some of me
The days you're around
You keep my feet firmly on the ground
Cause you believe in some of me
But you don't believe in all of me.

Didn't Know How

Forced to the ground we left you for dead
You lie there alone with a gun to your head
Heroin veins and alcohol eye's,
you swallow your pain and choke on your lies

You should've been dead
I should've come around
We should've done more
but you know, we didn't know how

Like a dog on a chain on the corner you stand
you think to yourself you were born to this hell
Well your mountains are high
and your valleys are low
At the end of the day where did you go?

'Cause you should've been dead
And I should've come around
and we should've done more
but  you know, we didn't know how

What was your name and where did you go?
Down to the depths of darkness you know

We should've done more
We didn't know how
